  • Overwhelmed with too much homework? We work through it together, so tonight's assignment actually gets done — and you learn the method, not just the answer.
  • A fundamental concept not clicking, and you're falling further behind every week? We find the exact rung of the ladder that's missing and rebuild from there. Fractions before algebra; algebra before calculus.
  • Need some additional hands-on instruction? Thirty kids in a classroom means thirty seconds of the teacher's time. Here, it's just you and the whiteboard.
  • Missed some class time and want to make up for it? Sick week, family trip, a transfer mid-semester — we cover the chapter you missed before the next test.
  • Test coming up and not sure how to study for it? We teach real study techniques — spaced practice, self-testing — instead of rereading notes at midnight.
  • Homework fights at the kitchen table every night? Let a third party be the one who says “show me your work.” Parents get their evenings back.
  • Doing fine, but want to get ahead of the curve? Start-of-year sessions to preview the chapter before class gets there. Confidence compounds.

how it works

What a typical hour looks like

  1. Find the sticking point (5–10 min) Where is the student struggling this week, and what's the goal — tonight's homework, Friday's test, the whole semester?
  2. Supervised practice (about 40 min) The student does the work. We ask the questions a good problem-solver asks themselves: what am I trying to isolate? what do I already know? what are my options? does this look like a problem I've solved before?
  3. Wrap up and get ahead (the rest) Final questions, then a look at what's coming next. Most students leave with their homework done and a one-page set of notes for the current chapter.
